Why did you choose Anesthesiology?  I loved learning cardiac and pulmonary physiology and in anesthesia you get to apply that knowledge in real time. All in a one on one setting with the patient in the operating room environment, which I really enjoy. It is a very hands on and procedural specialty focused on acute care settings which I preferred (as opposed to outpatient care).

Where do you live in Chicago (area of the city) and if you like that area, why?  I live in an area of the loop called lakeshore east. It's an easy commute on lakeshore drive to work (20 minutes) and only a 10-15 minute walk to River North where a lot of bars and restaurants are located. There is a large park in the center of the neighborhood with a dog park, a playground for kids, plus a Mariano's (grocery store). You can also walk to Ohio St Beach! It's a great way to live right downtown but still manage to have a neighborhood feel.
