John Henry Harrison, M.D. - Chief Resident

Medical School: University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI
Internship: University of Chicago

Why did you choose the Univ. of Chicago for your residency training?        When choosing where to go for residency I placed a high priority on personality.  The residents here seemed like a fun group of people and enjoy life, which can be rare in residency.  This has definitely been the case the last few years.  Our class is very close and I have made many relationships that will be lifelong.  We spend a good deal of time together outside of work and there is always someone up for something.  The Chiefs this year have also been excellent in planning various social events, bringing us all together in one place.

Favorite weekend trips in the area?  I'm from Wisconsin so I go back to Madison occasionally.  There's no better college town, especially during football season!  Also, Devils Lake in WI is about 3 hours from Chicago.  Lots of rock climbing, beautiful scenery and a big lake (though it's no Lake Michigan).
